As most of you (and you know who I mean) may or may not know ,'Songs For Sale' , the first solo release of Judy Tagt with Rowdy Chick Productions, has been a long time commin! So-o-o , we are pleased to tell you a little bit about this project.

First, about Judy Tagt! (since she wrote most of these songs, performed and produced them all). Judy Tagt is best known as a professional back up vocalist in Los Angeles, over the last 10 years .She has sang at all the 'Cool Clubs' including BB Kings, The Mint, Harvells, The Century Club, St Marks Club, to name but a few with artists such as Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Billie Preston, Bo Diddley with Chuck Barry, BJ Sharp and many others. She began her vocal carrier singing cover toons (which she loves) stylizing artists such as Sade, Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, Chaka Khan , Bonnie Raitte, to name but a few of her vocal intrigues. She paid her dues singing lead in too many cover bands to mention. So it came time for her to write and produce her own stuff with her own style; hence 'Songs For Sale' Came to be. Her lyrics or story telling are reflections of her own life experiences and have been described as "Honest and to the point". "Her songs are timeless and could be written in the 70's as well as in this new millennium", enjoyed by all age groups, (which frankly surprises her due to her 'Adult Contemporary ' Status. "I believe that music is the true expression of the soul and such a necessary art form to ease, inspire and comfort peoples day to day life that without music you love and enjoy and want to sing along to ,life would definitely have less joy".

Walter McKinney, Solo Guitarist and playing rhythm guitar, a truly gifted musician, Judy is proud to have him play on this project. Of Rose Royce fame she literally stole him from the band when she met him at a rehearsal studio while taking a break. He slapped 'George Benson', 'BB King' and ' Steve Ray Vaughn' on this CD and Judy calls him the one take wonder.

Sir Harry Bowens, not only arranged four of Judy's songs, He also co-produced back up vocals, Sang backing tracks and layed keys on many songs. Harry is of Was Not Was fame, has toured the world and began his music carrier back in the Motown Scene of Detroit City decades ago (OK we won't give away your age but this cat is well known by many). Judy is also pleased and awe struck that this artist gave his time and energy to her project.

David Wollenberger, arranged two of Judy's songs but more importantly allowed her to record two of his songs. He also played keyboard solo's in his pieces which slammed, but Judy was most impressed with his producing horn charts for not only his songs, but for two others hours before they were scheduled to be recorded in studio (no small feat) ! Judy has been a long time fan of David's work and was thrilled to be able to produce these two favorites he wrote. David studied at Julliard and Eastman School of Music and has written a multitude of songs, including a Musical Play.

Danny Clay Williams, played (or maybe I should say slammed) all the bass parts of this CD. However, after he did all that, Danny was my engineer from start to finish, recording all tracks in analog (a lost art form in my opinion). And, mixed this amazing CD. How do you truly thank such talent for the long hard hours he put into this project. His list of credits is too long to mention but as Judy puts it, Danny has defiantly been around the block!! Engineering for the best. "I am honored that a pro of the caliber of Danny saw me through the production of this CD" (even though I had to wear a cap that said 'I am the boss') !

Wayno Mills, played all the percussion grooves including two songs that he carried on his own with no drum tracks (cause that's how I wanted these songs done). That's how good he is. Wayno also is a studio cat and noted tour player with a list of credits also too long to mention. Judy is once again humbled and honored that such a great musician and friend took the time out to lay down some serious percussion. I also dug the fact that he let me play one of his instruments in a very special song I wrote. Thank you Wayno.

Lee Thornberg, Nick Lange and Doug Nurwine, The Horn Section!!! It was great fun to realize I had worked on stage with you, always being at the other end, with me being a back up singer .I especially want to thank Lee who saved my studio session quite selflessly by giving me that incredible solo on my jazz tune. I will always remember you for that and hope I can repay your generosity and talent.

Sir Harry Bowens, Carol Rogers, Betina Luboff, Robert McDonald, Myra McKay, Tammi Diddley, My Back Up Vocalists, How do you thank the people who do what you do? And you did it so well! Call me prejudice but I think you made my first Solo Project the best. Tina, thank you for saving me your song to record, and Tammi, it was too cute you told me I was the first Artist to pay you for singing, not drumming, although you do both well. Our recording sessions meant THE most to me. Thank You.
